Moderate Growth Reported For Chain Store Sales
Chain stores are reporting moderate increases in rates of year-on-year
sales growth in September. The gains point to strength for the monthly
ex-auto ex-gas reading of the September retail sales report though the
comparison with August is tough when this reading rose a strong 0.5
percent.
