Same-Store Retail Sales Growth Breaks Lower

Same-store sales growth broke lower in the November 16 week to a year-on-year 4.1 percent which is still very strong but well down from a 5.0 percent pace in the prior three weeks. If followed by similar slowing in next week's report, Redbook would be signaling a loss of retail momentum going into the opening of the holiday shopping season on Black Friday, November 29.
