Labor Market Conditions Index Shows Weakness

Weakness in the labor market conditions index should be no surprise given weakness in last week's employment report. The index came in at zero, ending four months of emerging strength. Adding to the weakness is a downward revision to August from 2.1 to 1.2. This index, which is compiled by the Federal Reserve, is based on a broad set of 19 components and offers ammunition to the doves as evidence of labor market weakness.

Recent History Of This Indicator:
The labor market conditions index is expected to hold steady at 2.0, in what would extend growth to five straight months. Still, growth has been a bit slower than the mid-single digit trend over 2013 and 2014.
