US employers plan to cut 40,010 jobs

U.S. employers said last month they planned to cut about 40,000 positions, a survey by Challenger, Gray & Christmas said Thursday.


The global outplacement firm said planned payroll reductions totaled 40,010, down 21 percent from its survey last August.
