Consumer comfort dips

Consumer confidence dipped in the second half of May to its lowest level since November.

The Bloomberg Consumer Comfort Index for the week ending May 25 fell to 33.3 from 34.1 the prior week. Full-time and part-time workers both reported their most dismal opinions on the economy slid to six-month lows. However, workers making more than $100,000 actually reported a boost in optimism, while those earning less than $50,000 fell to seven-month lows.
