The accounting and professional services firm’s Small Business Employment Index, which tracks hiring trends of companies with 300 or fewer employees using CBIZ’s payroll services, increased by 0.25 percent in February, after sliding 2.75 percent in January, the company reported last Friday. The two most common business mistakes that accountants find their small business clients making is not having ongoing insight into their financials and only talking to their accountant during tax time, according to a new survey. New U.S. single-family home sales fell in February, but a jump in prices to their highest level in eight months kept hopes alive of a recovery in the housing market. Tax day this year falls later than usual, on April 17. Small-business owners might use those extra 48 hours to make sure they've applied these 2011 tax breaks.
Have a profitable day!
