September Retail Sales: +1.9% M/M vs. +0.7% consensus and +0.6% prior (unrevised).
Retail Sales (less auto) +1.5% M/M vs. +0.3% consensus and +0.5% prior (revised from +0.7%).
Ex-gas and autos: +1.5% M/M vs. +0.4% expected and +0.5% prior (revised from +0.7%). On a year-over-year basis, core retail sales were up 9.1% - the largest jump in the history of the series. So much for the fiscal cliff.
Retail sales control group +1.4% M/M vs. +0.2% consensus and -0.3% prior (revised from -0.2%).
Nonstore retailers were up 23.8% Y/Y, building material and garden equipment and supplies dealers were up 19.1% Y/Y.
Total sales for the July through September 2020 were +3.6% Y/Y
