Export prices rise more than import prices

 

September Import/Export Prices: Import prices +0.3% M/M in-line with consensus and +1.0% prior (revised from +0.9%).

U.S. import prices declined 1.1% Y/Y.

Export prices +0.6% M/M vs. +0.4% consensus, +0.5% prior (unrevised).

U.S. export prices declined 1.8% over the past 12 months.

In September, rising prices for nonfuel imports more than offset lower fuel prices.
