Same-Store Retail Sales Show Burst Of Strength

Redbook's sample reports a burst of strength at the beginning of July, to a year-on-year 6.2 percent same-store growth rate versus an already very strong 5.5 percent rate in the prior week. Today's results hint at a strong start for July. Retail sales for June will be posted by the Census Department next Tuesday amid early expectations for moderate strength.
