Consumer Comfort Index Jumps

Consumer confidence readings have been mostly solid but the comfort index has been lagging. Yet not so in the June 19 week with the index jumping a very strong 2.1 points and, at 44.2, is back over 44 for the first time since early in the year. Strength in confidence ultimately boils down to strength in the jobs outlook.
