Consumer Comfort Index Steady
There's plenty of uncertainty, both economic and political, but the
consumer comfort index has been holding steady, at 44.2 for only a 1
tenth downtick from the prior week. This index opened the year below 44
which makes its early 2016 performance, given the severe volatility in
the stock market if nothing else, look strong. In contrast, Tuesday's
consumer confidence report fell back noticeably.
