Idaho leads nationally in employment growth

Over the past year, Idaho led the country in employment growth, according to data from the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics.

From October 2014 to October 2015, the state experienced a 3.8 percent increase in employment.    Utah was second with 3.5 percent growth over the same period. Nevada ranked third with a 3.4 percent increase.

The statistic measures the change in the number of jobs over that period of time, adjusted to account for seasonal fluctuations in hiring.

West Virginia and North Dakota were the only states to experience percentage decreases in employment, with 1.8 percent and 2.1 percent drops, respectively.

Idaho’s unemployment rate dipped to 4 percent in November, from 4.2 percent in October, according to the Bureau.
