ISM Manufacturing steady in September, PMI manufacturing reports strongest improvement in operating conditions since January 2019

September ISM Manufacturing Index: 55.4 vs. 56.3 consensus, 56.0 prior.

New Orders down to 60.2 from 67.6 in August, and Production to 61.0 from 63.3.

Employment up to 49.6 from 46.4; Supplies Deliveries to 59 from 58.2.

Prices jumped to 62.8 from 59.5.

Faster expansion in production and a solid rise in new orders helped index higher.
