Chain store sales go negative

Redbook Johnson reports chain store sales fell 2.0% Y/Y for the week ending April 11 to end what was a hot streak with consumers stocking up household essentials.

Easter sales were down this year with shoppers sidelined for the most part and discretionary spending appears to be slowing for large items.
