Small Business Optimism Eases
At a lower-than-expected 103.1, small business optimism in August eased
to its lowest level since March. Fewer respondents expect business
conditions to improve and fewer see better sales volumes ahead,
offsetting gains in hiring, earnings trends, and capital spending plans.
