Same-Store Retail Sales Slower, Still Strong

Redbook's sample is reporting very strong same-store sales in July though growth in the month, peaking at a year-on-year 6.2 percent in the July 6 week, slowed to 4.7 percent in the July 20 week and now 4.5 percent in the July 27 week. Still these are strong results and point to another month of healthy consumer contribution to the economy.
