Consumer Comfort On The Rise
Consumer comfort rose 3 tenths in the July 1 week to 57.6 to cap a
3-week run that has added nearly 2 points to the index which peaked back
in April at just over 58. The gains suggest that tariffs and talk of
trade wars are having no significant effect on the U.S. consumer in
contrast, however, to both the consumer confidence and consumer
sentiment reports which are showing a step back in expectations.
