Consumer Comfort Index Bounces Back
Capping a 4-week run, the consumer comfort index is back near its April
peak, up 4 tenths in the July 8 week to 58.0. The strength suggests that
tariffs and trade wars are having no significant effect on the U.S.
consumer. Watch for consumer sentiment on tomorrow's calendar, a report
that, unlike consumer comfort, is showing slight trade-war related
erosion.
