Consumer Comfort Index Continues To Slide Back, Still Strong
The consumer comfort index continues to slide back from expansion highs,
down 7 tenths in the May 6 week to 55.8. This index hit a peak in
mid-April at 58.1. Still, the latest reading is nevertheless very
strong, reflecting the strength of the jobs market and this year's tax
cut.
