December Payrolls Add 250K: ADP

ADP sees a strong gain of 250,000 for December private payrolls. ADP's accuracy has been hit and miss of late but today's results should confirm expectations for strength in tomorrow's report where Econoday's consensus is calling for private payroll growth of 184,000 vs an outsized 221,000 in November.

At a 190,000 estimate vs an actual 221,000, ADP did get the direction right in its November private payroll forecast, calling for a substantial decline from October's post-hurricane surge when private payrolls rose 247,000. The consensus for ADP's December call is steady strength at 188,000.
