Chain Stores Reporting Improving Sales
Chain stores are reporting improved sales rates in October compared to
September which points at extended strength for core readings in the
retail sales report. Ex-auto ex-gas retail sales rose 0.5 percent in
September with control group sales (which exclude food services, autos,
gas and building materials) rose 0.4 percent.
