Consumer Comfort Falls Sharply
The consumer comfort index fell sharply in the August 7 week, down 1.2
points to 41.8 in the August 7 week which is the lowest reading of the
year. Though the presidential election and the effects of Brexit are
uncertainties, the decline is a surprise given strength in the labor
market and record levels in the stock market.
