Consumer Confidence Holding Mostly Steady

Despite a slowdown in spending and soft wage growth, consumer confidence measures are mostly holding steady at firm levels though the comfort index has been edging lower, down 2 tenths in the April 3 week to 42.6. This index held near the 44 level throughout the first quarter.
