Same Store Retail Sales Continue Soft

Store sales have been soft this month, up only 0.7 percent in the March 5 week for Redbook's year-on-year same-store sales sample. Low temperatures have been holding down sales of spring merchandise but March does look to get a lift from this year's early Easter which will pull sales into the month at the expense of April.
