Consumer Comfort Index Rises Slightly
The consumer comfort index ended three straight declines, rising 1/2
point to 41.6 in the November 8 week. A rise in the buying climate gave a
boost to the index in good news for retailers ahead of the holidays.
Readings on consumer confidence peaked at mid year and have been
moderating since.
