Same Store Retail Sales Pick Up

Retail sales picked up slightly in the October 24 week, to a same-store year-on-year plus 1.5 percent for a 2 tenths gain from the prior week. The report attributes the gain to strength in Halloween sales that are getting a boost from discounting. The report notes that the gain for Halloween is a positive indication for upcoming holiday sales.
