Same-Store Retail Sales Fade A Bit, Still Very Strong

Redbook sales growth faded a bit in October, at a 4.5 percent same-store pace in the October 26 week to hold in the low-to-mid 4 percent range for a third straight week. Growth in this index, though still very strong especially for a same-store rate, had been at the 5 and even 6 percent rates through much of September and August. The results hint at slowing for core readings in the October retail sales report.
