The U.S. Treasury paid $108.5B in unemployment benefits
in June, the highest amount for a single month since the COVID-19
pandemic started. And that's as of June 29, according to the Treasury's
daily statement posted on Tuesday.
For the government's fiscal YTD, it has paid out $267.2B as of June 29.
May's $108.5B in unemployment benefits surpassed the $93.6B paid in May and $48.4B in April.
