Chain store show weekly improvement

Johnson Redbook reports U.S. chain same-store sales fell 5.7% Y/Y last week.

"The Fourth of July holiday promotions, summer heat waves and demand for seasonal goods drove the pickup in customer traffic and sales for the week."

Month-to-date sales through June 27 were down 7.4%.
